A day after five persons were burnt alive in a fire mishap after a truck fell off a flyover in Hyderabad Saturday night, police suspect drunk driving to be the cause for the accident.
The RGIA police on Sunday affirmed that five persons were burnt alive and one hospitalised with serious burns. Ganesh, the truck driver and resident of Ibrahimpatnam, Naveen, Ogre, Lakshman and Pathak, all from Odisha, were charred to death while Ancee was hospitalised. His condition is stated to be serious.
The mishap took place when the truck fell off the flyover near ORR. Police suspect that Ganesh lost control of the steering, due to which the truck fell off. The sparks that originated led to the fire.
