Balancing reservoir to be built with an investment of Rs 70 crore between Nekarikallu and Chejerla in Guntur will be named after former chief minister late Kasu Brahmananda Reddy.
A decision to this effect was taken by chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy when cooperation minister and Brahmananda Reddy’s son Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy and his son Mahesh Reddy requested him to release funds for the same. The reservoir between Nekarikallu and Chejerla will store about 1.5 tmcft water and can be used for drinking purpose by people living in Narasaraopet and in 63 villages in Nekarikallu, Narsaraopet and Rompicherla mandals.
