Farmers to back power stir

Andhra Pradesh Rythu Sangham called upon the farmers in the state to extend solidarity to the Left Parties ‘power’ struggle on March 14, by participating in the agitation.

APRS office bearers, who met at Rythu Bhavan here Saturday, resolved to support the Left agitation. They found fault with the government for failing to provide the promised 7- hour power and said now the farmers were hardly getting four hours.

They demanded that the government pursue the matter related to identification of tenant farmers and issue identity cards to them at the Revenue Sadassulu scheduled to commence from March 12.

Pointing out the lack of proper response from the banks in issuing loans to tenant farmers, they demanded the government to allocate Rs 1,000 crore in the budget for the purpose.
