The state government cancelled the mining lease awarded to M/s Penna Tandur Cement Company Limited, for Limestone mining in 822.13 acres at Malkapur and Sangam Maktha villages in Tandur Mandal of Ranga Reddy district. The government issued orders on Friday, declaring the lease as lapsed.
The main reason for the cancellation was that the company had not started its operations. Despite repeated alerts, the firm expressed its inability to start the works.
The company, which had also failed to submit the consent of pattadars, did not even set up a cement factory within three years, as stipulated in the lease order.
