The Dundigal police on Monday arrested eight persons for circulating fake currency notes and seized the notes worth Rs 23,000 in Rs 500 denominations from them.
Police said one of the accused, Ch Brahmachary, was arrested while he was exchanging a fake currency note at a pan shop. During interrogation, Brahmachary revealed the names of the other accused. They were identified as T Kranthi Kumar, K Pavan Kumar, B Naga Murali, Srinivasa Rao, Nar-Ul-Huk, A Pandari, Y Durga Reddy and Ch Brahmachary.
