A division bench of the High Court on Tuesday ordered ‘status quo’ to be maintained with regard to Banjara Bhavan (Rock House) which is a popular name of Devidi Mahedi Nawaz Jung on Banjara Hills, which was removed from the protected heritage list by the government recently.
The bench granted this order while dealing with a writ petition filed by secretary of Forum for Better Hyderabad OM Debara. The petitioner complained that the government deleted this building from the heritage list though the Heritage Conservation Committee constituted by the government opposed this proposal.
