The Andhra Pradesh State Human Rights Commission (APSHRC) on Friday directed assistant commissioner of police, Balanagar, to provide security to the clinical trial lab victim, who was threatened by the lab’s staff Thursday night.
The victim had filed a petition with SHRC on Thursday, alleging that a clinical lab in Miyapur had duped him by paying only Rs 1,200, instead of Rs 12,500 as promised earlier, for administering clinical tests for a new drug found by the firm.
After the petition was filed, the lab’s staff went to the victim’s house and threatened to kill him if he did not withdraw his petition.
