Three killed in house blast

Three persons, including two 10-year-olds, died and 12 others were injured in a high intensity explosion that took place at a house in Rajiv Gruha Kalpa residential complex at Vikarabad in Ranga Reddy district on Friday.

The deceased are Riyaz (10), son of one Mazeed, Anjali (10) and Vasantha (38), a housewife.

The incident reportedly took place at around 8.30 pm in Mazeed’s residence. Police said gelatin sticks that were kept in the room might have caused the explosion.

Soon after the explosion,  police, who were alerted by locals, rushed to the spot and shifted the injured  to the government hospital.

Ranga Reddy SP B Raja Kumari told Express that the clues team had reached the spot and collected some samples from the blast place.  The police are questioning the residents in connection with the explosion.

Of the 12 persons who were injured in the blast, the condition of two persons is stated to be serious.
