3 arrested for ragging

The RGIA police on Sunday arrested three students of Mennonite Brethren Centenary Bible College for ragging a 31-year-old student on the college premises.

Police said Arpan Lincoln (31), a student of Bachelor of Divinity, on Saturday approached the police and lodged a complaint stating that she was ragged by three students of the same college.

The accused are Tanuri Abhishek Jesudha, Kodudala Ellan John Ellisha Raj and Gadde Andrew, all students of MBCBC.

The police registered cases against the students under section 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC and 354 (a) of criminal law amendment ordinance 2013.

Cops also registered cases against MBCBC principal Rev. I. P. Asheervadam, Registrar Rev. C. S. Joel and warden Christina Asheervadam in connection with the issue.
