Cyber Crime police of Central Crime Station on Sunday arrested a 20-year-old youth who duped elderly persons by withdrawing cash through their ATM cards. Around `1 lakh cash was seized from him.
DCP LKV Ranga Rao said Kurangi Benna Vidyasagar, a resident of Guntur district, used to dupe innocent people, especially the elderly, who could not operate ATM cards. “He would introduce himself as an ATM security guard and gain confidence of the card holder. He used to get their PIN number, give them fake ATM cards, keeping the original with him and draw cash,” said cops.
