A tissue paper, on which was written that a bomb had been planted at a McDonald’s restaurant at Wellington Street in Secunderabad sent the Kharkhana police into a tizzy for more than an hour on Monday. Later, the information was turned out to be hoax.
According to the police, police were alerted by the management and customers of the restaurant around 8 pm that they found a tissue paper on which someone wrote that a bomb had been planted on the premises and it would blow up any time.
Police teams, accompanied by a clues team and sniffer dogs, rushed to the place and searched the place thoroughly for more than an hour, and came to the conclusion that the warning was a hoax, said Kharkhana police inspector N Shyam Prasada Rao. Police asked the management to submit the CCTV footage to them to identify the person who made the mischievous noting on tissue paper.
