A petty issue between two persons led to the murder of a GHMC contract staffer Sunday night at Anandbagh in Malkajgiri police limits. P Swamy was an assistant sanitation officer at the Malkajgiri circle of GHMC.

Police said at around 11.30 pm, Swamy, who was on his way back home on his bike, hit another vehicle belonging to one Narasing Rao, near Green Bawarchi hotel in East Anandbagh. He reportedly didn’t stop after causing the accident.

“Rao chased Swamy and intercepted him at the dumping yard in East Anandbagh. They exchanged heated arguments, and in a fit of rage, Rao attacked Swamy, who died on the spot. Locals noticed the incident and alerted the police, who recovered the dead body,” said police.

The accused too was admitted to a hospital with injuries. A murder case was registered.
