Missing girl rescued

A 4-year-old girl, who had been missing from her home at Shamshabad for two days, was rescued by the Hayatnagar police on Tuesday.

A 4-year-old girl, who had been missing from her home at Shamshabad for two days, was rescued by the Hayatnagar police on Tuesday.

According to Hayatnagar police inspector P Srinivas, local people alerted the police when they saw Chintal move about in Hayatnagar. Police rushed to the spot and rescued the girl. She told the police that her parents were Shantappa and Anjamma, and that she had gone to a shop to buy chocolates. While returning home, she lost her way and reached Hayatnagar on foot.  When the Hayatnagar police informed the Shamshabad police, the latter said they had registered a missing case two days ago. Police will hand over the girl to her parents on Wednesday. Meanwhile, she has been taken to a rehabilitation centre.
