Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) on Tuesday announced that summer coaching camp in water sports would be held at Hussain Sagar from April 1 and other disciplines at various stadia from April 15.
SAAP will also conduct coaching for chess, fencing, sailing, rowing, martial arts and softball. Schools and colleges around the camps will be targeted for maximum participation by the students.
“We plan to double the intake of students this year from 3,000 to 6,000 and introduced new disciplines to attract greater numbers,” TRK Rao, managing director of SAAP, said.
The venues selected for this year’s summer camp include LB Stadium, Gymkhana grounds, Secunderabad, Cycling Velodrome, Indoor stadium at Yousufguda, Indoor stadium at Saroornagar, Gachibowli, University of Hyderabad and Hussain Sagar for water sports.
