Give into your cravings, yet look lean 'Unjunked' style

Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor with her flab-to-fab look inspired many teen girls and not-so-teen women to get the lean and the mean look. When asked her ‘secret,’ she just said it was the right food, right exercise, at the right time.  So wondering who tells you what is the right food and how to cook it without burning your pocket on consulting a nutritionist? Pitching in help for weight-watchers is the latest release, Unjunked, authored by fitness expert Suman Agarwal.  In 2009, Suman co-authored her first book, The Don’t Diet Diet Cookbook.

Unjunked, which contains more than 80 recipes, is a must-have for people hoping to eat something tasty yet healthy. So how about binging on some yum food with being calorie-conscious? The book kicks-off with telling the readers about the five golden rules: The time of a meal is as important as the meal itself; the key is a well-balanced diet; less is more; foods to avoid at all costs and the last, but not the least-exercise, expend, burn- as 40 per cent of your weight loss depends on it! Also, the book comprises a seven-day menu for weight loss. Before any presumptions that the menu tells you to eat dull food, be surprised that you can eat even desserts like date fudge, chocolate sandesh and cheena pais. If strictly followed, you could shed away 700 gm to one-and-a-half kg in a week. Suman lives up to her philosophy ‘banish the boring’ in all her 80-odd recipes. Unjunked contains recipes for breakfast, lunch  and dinner, snacks, and desserts. If you panic about the calories consumed in a day, the book also contains a calorie chart and conversion chart, which tell you exactly how many calories have blissfully gone down your throat. Interestingly, the book  has calorie swap, which mean you can give into your occasional cravings and burn those calories through the exercises suggested by the author. Be guilt-free, delve in Unjunked and explore the recipes!

Unjunked is available at all leading bookstores at the cost of Rs 799.
