The High Court on Thursday granted stay on the merger of Chengicherla village of Ranga Reddy district with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).
A division bench comprising acting chief justice N V Ramana and justice Vilas V Afzulpurkar was dealing with a plea by K Prabhakar Goud challenging the order of the state government to merge Chengicherla gram panchayat with the GHMC.
The bench issued notices to the respondents - principal secretaries of panchayat raj and municipal administration, Ranga Reddy district collector and others concerned seeking their response.
