HYDERABAD: The HMWS&SB proposes a 24-hour shutdown on Krishna Water Phases I&II that supplies 180 MGD to twin cities on April 4, in order to interconnect with Krishna Water Drinking Supply Phase-III to bring 45 MGD of water.To mitigate the hardship to the customers, the board is taking following precautionary measures. Chief general managers and general managers would ensure that sufficient water is stored in the reservoirs prior to the proposed shutdown day for providing water to the tankers.
Meetings would be conducted with the Colony Welfare Associations to inform them of the proposed shutdown, and to store sufficient water in advance. The local MLAs and public representatives have been informed about the shutdown well in advance. Arrangements would be made to keep sufficient number of water tankers in each divisions to meet the demand.
A temporary control room will be opened at Board Office, Khairatabad to receive complaints from the needy people and to send the relief immediately. The Phone numbers are : 9989995690 and 9989990824.
The water board has requested public to store and conserve water wisely to avoid any inconvenience on the supply day.
