Eflu Exam Blooper Puts Students to Hardships

HYDERABAD: Outdoing their bloopers, English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) here has once again put scores of aspirants of its entrance test to severe inconvenience. Candidates taking  MA Comparative Literature entrance test were in for a rude shock, as they were given model question papers, instead of actual question paper, on Saturday.

And the error was realised by the university’s officials only after an hour into the exam. Students of the university said that many of the aspirants were from different parts of the country, and they were put to distress as their travel plans went awry because of the goof-up.

Eflu officials confirmed the mistake and said that necessary arrangements were made to avoid further inconvenience faced by students. When contacted, vice-chancellor of EFLU, Sunaina Singh, said she was in a meeting, and asked the university’s registrar to be contacted.

Last year candidates taking the university’s entrance test for admission into various courses, claimed that they were not informed of change in the exam timing. But the university’s officials denied the claim.

This year, the entrance test to MA Comparative Literature course was scheduled at 12 p m. of Saturday. After realising that wrong question paper was handed over to students, the officials re-conducted the exam at 6 p.m. on the same day.

“A lot of students are from Kerala and West Bengal. They planned to return to their home states after taking the exam. Because of the blunder, many of them were put to inconvenience,” alleged a student.
