Water Board Seizes Assets of Defaulters

HYDERABAD: Officials of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) on Friday seized mobile assets from three defaulters for non-payment of dues, under its Marredpally division.

The defaulters, who are residents of Shamlal, Begumpet, MG Road, and Prakash Nagar in Begumpet owe the HMWSSB more than `4 lakh together. Of them, the connection in Shamlal area alone to the board is more than `2.88 lakh.

Mobile assets of the customers like bikes, scooters, fridges etc. were seized by officials by invoking the Revenue Recovery Act. The three defaulters failed to pay their dues in spite of being served notices, said a press release. HMWS&SB managing director M Jagadeeshwar reiterated that the Board would not tolerate defaulters and consumers are requested to make payments promptly.
