Finally Eamcet-III to be held on September 11

HYDERABAD: Putting an end to all uncertainties on Eamcet, the state government on Tuesday announced that the exam would be held on   September 11 between 10 am and 1 pm. Professor N Yadaiah, registrar of Jawaharalal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad would be the convenor of Eamcet-III.

A detailed schedule is expected to be announced soon after a meeting of Common Entrance Test(CET) committee is held.

Earlier in the day, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao released a statement on cancellation of Eamcet-II and gave his nod  to release the notification for Eamcet-III.

The chief minister urged students and parents to cooperate, saying that the decision to hold a fresh exam was taken only after considering all options, under unavoidable circumstances.

“It is immensely painful to know that due to wrong doing of few people, thousands of students have to suffer. Before deciding on  conducting Eamcet-III, we have explored all possible options and even consulted legal experts. Whenever a paper was leaked, a re-examination was held. I request students and parents to understand the situation and cooperate with the government,” Rao said in a press statement.

JNTUH will once again hold the exam but new convenor has been appointed. JNTUH registrar N Yadaiah will be the convenor for Eamcet-III. More than 50,000 students are expected to take Eamcet-III. While about 56,153 students applied for Eamcet-II, 50,961 students wrote the exam. More or less same number of students are expected to take  Eamcet-III.

Though a retest is held, students need not apply again, as the old applications and hall ticket numbers will be valid now also.
