HYDERABAD: The real demonetisation effect would be felt by tipplers from Friday. The state government suddenly increased the excise and countervailing duty on liquor bottles, which will come into effect from December 2.
Special chief secretary Ajay Mishra signed the related file and issued notification just before his transfer. According to sources, the increase in duty would burden the boozers by `150 on full bottle of liquor.
