HYDERABAD: The Exhibition Grounds at Nampally is all set to host the All India Industrial Exhibition, more popularly known as Numaish, from January 1 even as demonetisation poses threat to the business.
Numaish will get even bigger this year with 2,500 stalls being set up and about 25 lakh people are expected to visit, in spite of cash crunch.

“Demonetisation may affect Hyderabad exhibition adversely. We have asked all the stall owners to ensure that swipe machines are made available at all stalls, as not to lose customers due to cash crunch or shortage of change. Even visitors should carry their debit or credit cards or use mobile wallets to make purchases in the exhibition,” Etela Rajender, finance minister and president of the Exhibition Society, said here on Thursday.

He further said that several banks have been asked to set up more number of ATMs at the exhibition this year and swipe machines would be made available at ticket counters.
Works for setting up stalls are going in full swing as the exhibition will officially be opened on Sunday evening. While about 20 lakh people visited Numaish last year, Exhibition Society members estimate that the number might go up to  25 lakh this year.

Hyderabad exhibition has entered into 77th year this year and 46-day long exhibition will go on till February 15. Exhibition will be open from 3 pm to 10.30 pm daily. Entry ticket will be priced at Rs 25. While a Ladies day will be observed on January 6, children’s day will be observed on January 31. On these days only ladies and children will be allowed. A three-tier security with CCTV cameras will be put in place at the exhibition.
