Detailing the D-tale

With Tapsee Pannu, Aadi, Nitya Menon, Regina Cassandra and several Tollywood biggies . as their clients, designer duo Divya Shah and Lipsa Jain recount their remarkable journey

HYDERABAD: Designing beautiful ensembles has been their passion little did they know that they would end up dressing the stars.

Divya Shah and Lipsa Jain who passed out of National Institute of Fashion Technology, Hyderabad in 2009. Divya and Lipsa have not looked back since then.

“We did internship with Globus and worked under fashion designer Krishna Mehta,” says Divya.

Out of the many opportunities, those that they got with the southern film industry helped them eatsablish themselves as designers. Soon after the duo floated their their brand D-Tale.

Their first break came with Ram Charan and Genelia D’souza starrer Orange. Director Bhaskar taught them the nuances of film industry works reveals the duo.

So far they have designed for nearly 12 movies such as Ishq, Mogudu, Shadow, Paisa, Okadine, Lovely, Saahasam, Dharuvu, Malli Malli Idhi Rani Roju, JK (Tamil), Myna (Kannada) and S/O Satyamurthy recently.

Apart from the movies they have worked with many stars like Gopichand, Tapsee Pannu, Aadi, Nitya Menon, Catherine Tresa, Regina Cassandra and many more.

So how was the experience of working in the industry and with such big names?

“It has been an amazing journey so far. We have learnt so much about how colours come on screen, screen angles, background setup,” says Divya.

Apart from hard work, the designers believe that the were also lucky to get a cahnce to work with people like PC Sri Ram, Krishna Vamsi, Chandrashekhar Yellati, Trivikram, Meher Ramesh and Vikram to name a few.

D-tale collection is a fusion of nature and geometry-inspired structured silhouettes, with feminine flowy drapes, exquisite hand embroidery forming the core of the brand.

Divya and Lipsa  added another feather in their hat when they stepped up their game by debuting at the India Runway Week-in September, 2015 in Delhi. Actress Lakshmi Manchu was their show stopper. These two women are an example of how dreaming big and working hard for them is the best bet to success.
