HYDERABAD: Former Chief Justice of Patna High Court Justice Narasimha Reddy on Monday said technology has brought down corruption.

Participating in the Vigilance Awareness Week of South Central Railway  (SCR) which commenced on Monday with a seminar on ‘Public Participation in Promoting Integrity and Eradicating Corruption’, Justice Narasimha Reddy said that nobody is born to be corrupt. T

he traditional system of education which used to teach values and imbibe character in a child is required to eliminate corruption, he added.  

SCR GM Ravindra Gupta, speaking on the  occasion, said that steps like e-auction, e-tendering, public display system, role of RTI has improved transparency in the organisation.

Earlier, SCR chief vigilance officer Gajanan Mallya mentioned that the vigilance department is closely monitoring procurement of medicines, issue and account of the same through Integrated Material Management Information System (iMMIS), ensured installation of surveillance cameras through mobile apps at strategic locations of Lallaguda, Parcel Office at Secunderabad, various Railway Coaching Depots and Scrap Depots and systematically monitoring online complaints received through official website of SCR.
