Bridegroom opens fire into the air during wedding, held

HYDERABAD: Close on the heels of an incident of a bridegroom opening fire with a revolver during his wedding procession in Falaknuma police limits few weeks ago, another bridegroom was caught for a similar incident in Kulsumpura police limits.

Even though the incident took place on September 21, it came to light after the South Zone Task Force police picked up two persons in connection with opening fire in Moghalpura police limits.

Kulsumpura police, who registered cases under Arms Act, arrested two persons —Maqsood Ali, Assistant General Manager, Hathway Cable Network Private Limited and Salahuddin, a cable operator.

According to police, Maqsood Ali opened fire during a marriage procession on September 21 in Kulsumpura police limits. Kulsumpura Sub Inspector B Venkatesam said he received information regarding a bridegroom, opening fire during a marriage function at Vintage Palace.

“Immediately, we visited Vintage Palace and questioned the Palace staff. It was revealed that one Salahuddin booked the function hall on September 21 for marriage function and Maqsood Ali opened fire,’’ SI said.

Based on information, the police arrested the duo in connection with the offence.

Police said Maqsood Ali knew Salahuddin as he attended a family function.

During the procession, the duo were involved in opening fire in to air.
