Four injured as inebriated driver rams into vehicles

HYDERABAD: A drunk driver rammed his car into a bike, grievously injuring two siblings on Tuesday night at Karmanghat. The siblings, a brother and sister, were admitted to a private hospital. Two more persons received mild injuries. The driver of the car Venkata Krishna Reddy and another person Siva Reddy were taken into custody by Saroornagar police.

Venkata Krishna Reddy and Siva Reddy were from Mahbubnagar and were in the city for some work. The duo consumed alcohol after wrapping up their work and were headed to their native place.
Venkata Krishna was driving the car, bearing registration number TS UB 5603, at 70 to 80 km per hour . At around 11 pm he lost control of the car and rammed a two-wheeler injuring Maganti Nethra and Maganti Sagar. Also, he rammed two Indica cars, injuring two more people. The two-wheeler was being driven at 10 to 15 km per hour.

The four injured were taken to private hospitals. Saroornagar Police said that Venkata Krishna and Siva Reddy were taken into custody. No deaths were reported.
In a similar case of drunken driving, a software professional who was drunk rammed into Sridevi and her daughter Sanjana (5) on October 2. Sanjana, who slipped into a coma because of injuries, is still recovering.
