SFI alliance sweeps varsity polls

HYDERABAD: AfteR an intense political activity, the United Front for Social Justice (USFJ), an alliance of the Students Federation of India (SFI), Dalit Students Union (DSU), Tribal Students Forum (TSF), Bahujan Students Front (BSF) and Telangana Vidyarthi Vedika (TVV) won the University of Hyderabad (UoH) students’ union elections for the year 2016-17. Akhila Bharatiya Vidya Parishad followed USFJ’s lead.
The results were declared at 10.30 p.m. on Thursday.
The spirit of the Ambedkar Students Association, the political party that Dalit scholar
Rohith Vemula was associated with,  got 944 votes for its presidential candidate.
