Foundation for Mangalapally truck terminal to be laid soon

The HMDA has planned two logistic parks on the city’s outskirts, one at Mangalapally and the other at Batasingaram adjoining NH-9 (Mumbai-Hyderabad-Vijayawada national highway).

HYDERABAD: Work on the logistic park (truck terminal) at Mangalapally in Ibrahimpatnam mandal in Rangareddy district will commence shortly, Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority metropolitan commissioner T Chiranjeevulu has said.


The HMDA has planned two logistic parks on the city’s outskirts, one at Mangalapally and the other at Batasingaram adjoining NH-9 (Mumbai-Hyderabad-Vijayawada national highway). Chiranjeevulue said the foundation stone for the Mangalapally terminal would be laid shortly. 


Estimates suggest that 35,000 to 40,000 trucks carry around one lakh tonne cargo into and out of the city. These parks will have integrated facilities for truck parking and warehousing apart from dhabas, cafeterias and restaurants, vehicle servicing workshops, petrol pumps.


The logistic parks will have parking space for about 500 trucks and warehousing facility and cold storage for storing 4,000 tonnes of goods. It will also have an office complex for transport operators, automobile service centres and accessories and vehicle testing centre.
