HYDERABAD: TDP TS unit working president A Revanth Reddy’s efforts to undertake a padayatra against drugs menace in Hyderabad was foiled by the police.

When Reddy along with his party leaders tried to embark on padayatra from B R Ambedkar statue, located at Liberty junction, near Tank bund, to Abkari (excise) Bhavan at Nampally, here on Monday, police detained all the leaders and took them to Gandhi Nagar police station. After some time, they were released. Later, while addressing mediapersons, Revanth alleged that the state government was not honestly probing into the drug racket case as some of the relatives of the TRS leaders are involved in it.
“Many of the pubs which run in the city are owned and maintained by TRS leaders and their relatives. Hence, the government is not sincere in nabbing the actual culprits behind the drug racket,” he alleged.
