200 any time water kiosks in Hyderabad by year end

HYDERABAD: In order to provide potable drinking water to people in public places through Automatic Water Vending Machines (AWVM) at an affordable price, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will set up 200 Any Time Water Kiosks in the twin cities by the year end and another 100 by next year. One such Water ATM kiosk was opened near NTR Gardens on Saturday by GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and GHMC Commissioner B  Janardhan Reddy. The civic body is setting up the AWVM in collaboration with Josab International AB (Stockholm, Sweden) and  Natures Spring Eco Tap Pvt Ltd. Bonthu Rammohan said that GHMC has collaborated with the above-mentioned firms for setting up the kiosks in the city.

The said companies have participated in EOI invited by GHMC and HMWS&SB and  have bagged the order towards establishing water ATMs. Natures Spring Eco Tap Pvt Ltd, Director,  Jayaraj Reddy Boyapati said each and  every kiosk will have an independent water treatment unit.
