HYDERABAD: With about three months left for the current financial year to end, city mayor Bonthu Rammohan has asked GHMC officials to keep track of irregular payers of property tax and bring all the unassessed properties under the tax net so as to raise the revenue of the corporation that might help it avoid increasing the tax rates next year.

The mayor also asked the officials to collect property tax from those who applied for building regularisation. He asked them to expeditiously process the applications received under the Building Regularisation Scheme and collect property tax from the building owners. Turning his attention to cellphone signal towers, he said they could be a good source of revenue in the form of fees from telecom operator.
