Man rapes minor girl, smashes her head with boulder; held in Hyderabad

The body of the 5-year-old girl, with her head smashed, was found dumped in the bushes at an isolated spot last night.

HYDERABAD: A five-year-old girl, who had gone missing in suspicious circumstances, was found raped and brutally murdered in the bushes a day later on the city’s outskirts on Wednesday. Narsingi police, who are investigating the case, arrested a 23-year-old worker, Dinesh Kumar Dharne of Alkapuri in Narsingi, in connection with the crime.  Dinesh Kumar hails from Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh and the girl’s parents hail from Bihar. They have been working at the same construction site and are known to each other. Assistant commissioner of police (Madhapur) N Shyam Prasad Rao said that Dinesh Kumar lured the girl with chocolates and took her to the bushes and raped her twice. Fearing that the girl would inform her parents about it, he allegedly bludgeoned her to death. 

A ‘missing person’ complaint was received by the police on Tuesday from the girl’s parents, accusing one Dinesh Kumar. According to them, Kumar had taken their daughter to a kirana shop on the pretext of buying her chocolates. The Narsingi police registered a case of kidnap. They obtained crucial leads with respect to Dinesh Kumar’s alleged involvement, took him into custody, where Kumar reportedly confessed to the crime.  

Man held for bid to sexually assault 65-yr-old woman
Hyderabad:  An autodriver allegedly attempted to sexually assault a 65-year-old woman passenger late  Tuesday evening on city outskirts. Amangal police on Wednesday arrested the auto driver Naresh following a complaint. According to police, the woman in her complaint said that she had hired the autorickshaw at around 10 pm on Tuesday to go in search of her husband, who had not returned home in the evening. Worried about her husband, she hired Naresh’s auto. 

While they were proceeding in the auto, police said quoting the complaint, Naresh stopped the vehicle at an isolated place and attempted to sexually assault her.  The woman said she somehow managed to escape from the place.  As her husband returned home later in the night, couple approached police on Wednesday morning and lodged a complaint. After preliminary inquiry, police registered a case under Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and investigation is on.

6-year-old daughter of daily wage labourer raped and killed
Wanaparthy: A six-year-old daughter of a daily wage labourer was sexually assaulted and brutally killed at Peddagudem village in district. Ramakrishna, Narasimha and Madhu, all natives of Kollapur mandal who were supervising construction where the girl’s father was working have been identified as the prime accused. The parents of the girl had filed a missing report of their daughter with the police three days ago. During the investigation, it was found that three workers who were consuming alcohol at the construction site on the day the girl went missing.

Wanaparthy CI Venkateshwarlu said the accused persons, who work as masons, came to Peddagudem to work in an under construction house on November 10. On completion of the day’s work, they got together for drinks. Then, the six-year-old daughter of the daily wage labourer, who was assisting the accused in their works, came towards them. On seeing the girl, the accused Ramakrishna offered her a chocolate and sexually assaulted her. Later, fearing that he would be caught, he killed the girl and kept her body on the shelf of house, police said. The three accused confessed to their crime during an interrogation, police added.
