HYDERABAD: The body of a mentally unsound 20-year-old boy was found in an abandoned place at Jagadgirigutta on Monday morning. The boy’s head was smashed with boulders.

The boy, identified as Akash, was living in Venkateshwara Nagar along with his mother. Akash was working in a bakery owned by his relatives.

The body of Akash was lying near an under construction building, with a deep injury to the right side of his head. The boy’s parents told the police that he was mentally unsound and was being treated for a long time.

Jagadgirigutta inspector P Srinivas said that the boy left his home between 2 am and 3 am on Monday while his parents were sleeping. “It is suspected that the boy could have been hit by a vehicle and his body was brought and thrown at the spot or he could have committed suicide,” said the inspector.
Answering a query, the inspector confirmed that they did not find any clues regarding sodom

y or other physical abuse in the preliminary probe. The body has been sent to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem.
