Priyanka Gandhi in Hyderabad for second opinion on son Rehan’s eye surgery

HYDERABAD: Priyanka Gandhi made a surprise visit to Hyderabad on Saturday to get the second opinion on her son Rehan's eye injury at LV Prasad Eye Hospital here.

Rehan (16), son of Priyanka and Robert Vadra, reportedly got hurt when he was hit by a cricket ball. The couple first consulted the AIIMS in Delhi and the decided to come to the L V Prasad Eye Hospital for a second opinion.

Priyanka, the star campaigner for the Congress in the UP Assembly election was busy Friday canvassing for the Congress-Samajwadi Party alliance in Amethi and Rae Bareli on Friday.

According to sources, medical experts at AIIMS advised Priyanka and Robert Vadra to bring Rehan for a second opinion from the specialists at LV Prasad Eye Hospital, premier eye care facility in the country.

Ahead of Priyanka’s visit, the Hyderabad policemen beefed up security in and around the hospital located in Banjara Hills.

Local Congress leaders were not aware of Priyanka's sudden visit to Hyderabad. They came to know about her visit only Saturday afternoon.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy told New Indian Express, "Priyanka Gandhi and her family are on a personal visit to the LV Prasad Eye Institute. We have been asked not to disturb them as they came here for medical treatment. Hence, I have directed all our party leaders not to disturb them."

According to sources, Priyanka and her family would fly back to New Delhi Saturday evening.
