HYDERABAD: A United States district court for the northern district of Texas, Dallas division, dismissed the alleged role of a Hyderabad-based business man Narasimha Rao Bhogavalli (50) in a call centre scam there. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had registered criminal cases and arrested Narasimha Rao in October. In the order copy released by the court on December 30 in connection with the FBI cases registered against Narasimha Rao.

judge, Sam A. Lindsay of the Northern district of Texas, Dallas division, USA, said that the government’s unopposed motion for leave of court to dismiss the indictment and vacate order detention against defendant Narasimha Bhogavalli is granted. “The indictment (chargesheet) is dismissed without prejudice. The order of detention (dkt.8) is vacated.

The US Marshal is directed to release defendant Narasimha Rao Bhogavalli,” the order said. Narasimha Rao’s brother Prabhakar Rao Bhogavalli said: “My brother is innocent and it is proved by the US court during the legal proceedings. Narasimha Rao did not indulge in the offence intentionally. Some of his business associates illegally used his bank accounts for their cash transactions.’’ The FBI had arrested Narasimha Rao in connection with call centre scam in October.
