HYDERABAD: A fake manpower consultant agency owned by two brothers, operating from Abids for the past 10 years, without permission from Protector General of Emigration, was busted by Hyderabad police on Friday.

In the guise of providing jobs in Dubai, Saudi Arabia and other countries in the middle-east, the duo had been collecting Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh from each job aspirant.

Police arrested the owner of the fake agency Aerovision Tours & Travels, Mohammed Abdul Dilshad (33) of Tolichowki, and recovered passports and fake agreements from the accused.

Dilshad along with his brother Irshad, had been cheating innocent youngsters, who were in need of jobs on the pretext of providing work visas in foreign countries. “They conducted interviews and collected passports and money as advance from the job aspirants to create an impression that they are on the job of visa processing. After some days, they tell the aspirants that the issue is pending with the employer and do not even return the passports. So far, they have cheated about 25 to 30 people on the guise of providing job in Dubai,” said DCP B Limba Reddy.

On detention of the accused Dilshad, three passports, 25 job applications, business cards, agreement letters and Rs 1.15 lakh cash has been seized from the accused’s office. Efforts are on to nab Irshad who is absconding, said the DCP.

The DCP appealed the job aspirants to verify about the recruiters with the police before paying money to the agents, as several fake recruiting agencies have come up in the city.
