Monsoon ban lifted, city to undergo road cuttings

As per the requests from different agencies for laying cable and power lines, the civic body has permitted to cut as many as 200 km long roads.

HYDERABAD: Now that the monsoon ban, which was effective during rains, has been lifted by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), different parts of the city would witness massive road cuttings.

As per the requests from different agencies for laying cable and power lines, the civic body has permitted to cut as many as 200 km long roads.

Permission was given after lifting the monsoon ban. A few agencies have initiated road cutting. GHMC has given a time of two months to complete the task of road cutting as well as for their restoration. Failing to comply with the order, they would levy a penalty on the defaulters.

GHMC permitted 135 km of road cutting permission to Reliance Jio in all five zones. The corporation permitted M/s L&T Smart City has been permitted to cut 38.96 km of road in all zones of GHMC. M/s Bhagyanagar Gas Limited to cut road of 7.85 km from Quthbullapur office to Kukatpally junction and Narsapur Cross Roads to Fathenagar flyover.
