‘Govt, VC trying to kill Dalit students in India’

Radhika Vemula, speaking from the main gate of UoH during Rohith’sw Shahadath Din, said that the government and VC of the university are trying to kill all Dalit students in the country.

HYDERABAD: Radhika Vemula, speaking from the main gate of UoH during Rohith’sw Shahadath Din, said that the government and VC of the university are trying to kill all Dalit students in the country.
“Appa Rao Podile is trying to hide the letter written by Rohith on December 18. Would he have maintained silence had his own son been in place of Rohith,” she questioned. “BJP, Telangana and AP government and UoH administration, are together attempting to kill all the Dalit students who are pursuing their PGs and PhDs at universities so that there won’t be any competition for higher caste kids.

A proof of this is suspension of Dalit students at Lucknow, JNU and UoH,” Radhika said. “The government is trying to psychologically break me by posting ‘offensive’ questions. They are free to declare Rohith whatever they want but I will continue to fight for justice for him and against caste discrimination, she added.

“At least now, Dalit women and students should come out and support the cause so that no other student suffers death like my Rohith,” appealed Radhika. Rohith’s brother Raja Vemula, who also addressed the crowd, said he no longer fears anyone anymore. “Even today, they are not allowing me to see Rohith’s stupa inside the university. Police are saying they will arrest me if I go inside. Let them arrest me. I will go ahead. I am thankful to all of you and see his face in all if you.”
