A division bench of Hyderabad High Court on Monday directed the Telangana Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society to allow Balaji Mixed Fabrics and Handloom Weavers

HYDERABAD: A division bench of Hyderabad High Court on Monday directed the Telangana Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society to allow Balaji Mixed Fabrics and Handloom Weavers Cooperative Production and Sales Society to take away its two cars and six looms from the office premises located in Narayanaguda area of the city within three days.

The bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice Shameem Akhter was dealing with a plea by Balaji Society challenging the action of the authorities of Telangana Society in sealing the premises and not allowing them to take away their cars and looms.

The counsel for appellant told the court that the Andhra Pradesh Handloom Weavers’ Cooperative Society (APCO) was listed in the IX Schedule of the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014 and its assets and liabilities are to be distributed between Telangana and AP states. Despite pendency of the division, Telangana authorities have sealed the premises of APCO at Narayanaguda and taken its possession, he pointed out.

On the other hand, special counsel for Telangana told the court that the authorities are prepared to handover the subject property of Balaji society.

Taking this into consideration, the bench directed the respondent authorities to complete the process of handing over the property within three days.
