HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has set a target to complete the Underpass (RuB) by the year end and flyover at Mind Space Junction by June 2018.
The civic body aims to ease the traffic congestion in the core areas of IT corridor near Hitec city through these two projects.
Construction of multi-level Grade Separators at four junctions — Biodiversity, Mind Space junction, Ayyappa Society and Rajiv Gandhi statue junction including widening and strengthening of existing grade road at Mind Space junction — is being taken up under EPC under Phase-I of Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP).
The work, being carried out by M Venkata Rao Infra Projects Pvt Ltd, costs around `185.84 crore. However, the state government has accorded approval for extra widening at curves, composite steel girder viaduct, ramp at four junctions and the extended length of flyover at Mind space junction from 460 metres to 830 metres.
Accordingly, the tender contract value has increased from `185.84 crore to `237.01 crore.
GHMC commissioner B Janardhan Reddy, during the monthly convergence meetings, had asked heads of various departments to shift the utilities to avoid delay in works.
