The ministry of railways has introduced a new weekly train between the famous pilgrim town of Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu and Faizabad, near Ayodhya, in Uttar Pradesh.

HYDERABAD: The ministry of railways has introduced a new weekly train between the famous pilgrim town of Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu and Faizabad, near Ayodhya, in Uttar Pradesh.
The train was flagged off by prime minister Narendra Modi on Thursday through video conference at Mandapam, near Rameswaram.

The regular service of the train will commence on August 6. Train No.16793 Rameswaram-Faizabad weekly express will depart from Rameswaram at 23:50 hours on Sundays and arrive at Faizabad at 08:30 hours on Wednesdays with effect from August 6.
In the return direction, Train No.16794 Faizabad-Rameswaram weekly express will leave Faizabad at 23:55 hours on Wednesdays and arrive at Rameswaram at 08:50 hours on Saturdays with effect from August 9.

The trains will stop at Manamadurai, Thiruchirapalli, Thanjavur, Kumbakonam, Villupuram, Chennai Egmore, Gudur, Vijayawada, Warangal, Ballarshah, Nagpur, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Satna, Allahabad, Jaunpur and Ayodhya. They have 18 coaches.

MORE COACHES: In order to accommodate waitlisted passengers, the South Central Railway will temporarily augment some trains with one additional 3-Tier AC coach.

Train No.17652 Kacheguda-Chengalpattu Express will have one AC 3-Tier coach from July 27 to August 15; Train No.17651 Chengalpattu-Kacheguda Express from July 29 to August 18;Train 17643 Chengalpattu-Kakinada Port Circar Express from July 27 to August 16; and Train 17644 Kakinada Port-Chengalpattu Circar Express from July 28 to August 17.
