HYDERABAD: Probing into the death of the 30-year-old beautician-cum-HR executive A Vijayalakshmi alias Sirisha, the city police said Kukunoorpally sub-inspector of police P Prabhakar Reddy allegedly made sexual advances to the deceased, which was resisted by the woman.
Sirisha, however, was not sexually assaulted but was hit by her friend while coming back to Hyderabad which allegedly left injuries on her face.
City police commissioner M Mahender Reddy on Friday told media persons that Sirisha’s death was a suicide and ruled out sexual assault on her. The police, who initially registered a case of suspicious death, had now altered the case to abetment to commit suicide against Sirisha’s friend and RJ Photography owner Rajkumar alias Rajiv and Bodhasu Sravan Kumar, friend of Sirisha.
The duo were arrested on Friday. Police said Sirisha, who was already married, was having an affair with Rajiv. Meanwhile, Rajiv fell in love with Tejaswini, working in a IT company, and they planned to get married. Tejaswini came to know about Rajiv’s affair with Sirisha and the former abused the deceased by sending messages through WhatsApp.
Sirisha informed the matter to Sravan to settle the issue and the latter brought Prabhakar Reddy into the picture. Initially, Prabhakar Reddy referred the case to his friend Harinder, who is the SI of Banjara Hills.
However, as Harinder was busy with some other works, Sirisha, Sravan and Rajiv on June 12 went to Kuknoorpally to meet Prabhakar Reddy, where the four of them consumed liquor. “At one point of time, Rajiv, Sravan and the SI came out of the room to smoke. Then the SI told Rajiv and Sravan to make a visit to the nearby prostitute dens which Sirisha overheard and messaged Rajiv not to leave her alone. After a few minutes, the trio came inside,” Mahender Reddy said.
However, sometime later, Rajiv and Sravan went out to smoke when Prabhakar Reddy allegedly made sexual advances towards Sirisha, the CP said. As the woman raised cries, the duo came inside and on the insistince of Prabhakar Reddy, the trio later left the quarters and reached Hyderabad. “During the travel, Rajiv hit Sirisha couple of times,’’ the CP said.
On June 13 early hours, the trio returned to the city. As soon as the vehicle reached Rockside Apartments, Sirisha went to RJ photography office and committed suicide.
Meanwhile, mother of deceased SI has demanded a high-level inquiry into the case.
