HYDERABAD:The 4th edition of Hyderabad Srimathi Silk Mark 2016-17, a beauty pageant by Silk Mark Organization of India, and promoted by Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, coincided with ‘International Women’s Day’. The contest for married women picks brand ambassadors of ‘Telugu culture and traditional values’ depicting the glimpses of Indian Silks while spreading the awareness on silk and educating them on how to identify pure silks while encouraging them to wear traditional attire. Vanya Silk products from North-East India, ‘Enchanting Eri’ and ‘Magnificent Muga’ apart from Marvellous Mulberry was the highlight of the event.
The committee had shortlisted 56 contestants out of 120 aspirants. The finalists were selected on the basis of awareness on silks, communication skills and overall
appearance.
