Tedxiith lines up rockstar speakers

A look at the inspiring achievers who will speak on  March 19

HYDERABAD: IIT-Hyderabad, which believes in transforming ideas into reality, is conducting TEDxIITHyderabad 2017 on March 19 at HICC Novotel. The day-long event, for which The New Indian Express has partnered with, is an annual programme aimed at educating, inspiring and connecting great minds. The theme this year is “Tomorrow Starts Now.” Among the speakers are:

Richa Singh is a conceptualiser and co-founder at YourDOST, an online start-up that allows people to connect with expert life coaches and psychologists conveniently and anonymously. A graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, this strategic product planner made it into the Forbes 30 under 30 list, 2017.
Bari Anwar, better known as “ZeDDisbug”, is one of the first Indian e-sportsmen. Becoming a professional gamer in India was not easy, however. He has been swimming against the current throughout his life to get to where he is now. A professional e-sports athelete, he competes with other professional gamers to win titles/tournaments and has been doing this since a decade. “I am attending this event to enlighten people about the gaming industry and what it takes to make a career in it.”

Anam Hashim is a professional bike stunt performer and rider, and India’s only female street-bike freestyle athlete. She also runs an organisation to promote Stunt Riding and Adventure Sports in India. She has scaled the world’s highest motorable pass Khardung La twice. She is breaking stereotypes in a male-dominated profession and is a youth icon.

KK Senthil Kumar is the award-winning cinemtatographer of movies like Baahubali, Magadheera, Eega and Arundhati. Known for his cutting edge effects and mega action sequences, he received SIIMA award for Best Cinematographer for Eega. Senthil has blurred the line between VFX and reality in his movies and has received critical acclaim.

Prof BM Hegde is a medical scientist, educationist and author who has contributed immensely in the field of healthcare medical science, and is known for his holistic approach. He has been bestowed with the Dr B.C. Roy National Award in the category of an Eminent Medical Teacher in 1999 and the Padma Bhushan award in 2010. He has also served as the Vice-Chancellor of Manipal University. He is now putting together a system of medical care delivery which is authentic, inexpensive, patient friendly and easily accessible.

Rajaram Bojji is the inventor of revolutionary ‘Skybus metro’. He has worked as the MD and CEO of the Konkan Railway corporation. Graduating from Andhra University, Rajaram pursued his masters from IIT Kharagpur and has worked on many projects like Anti Collision Device, Moving Block System and Self Stabilising Track improving the reliability of the railways at a low cost.
