HYDERABAD: South Central Railway has become pioneer in Indian Railways by taking up eco-friendly initiatives.
Kacheguda station has earned another distinction by taking up environmental friendly measures to ensure cleanliness. As part of the same, all biowaste generated at Kacheguda station and Kacheguda Railway Colony are processed in decomposting plant to produce high quality organic manure.
Similarly, plastic waste in the form of disposable water bottles are crushed into smaller pieces by water bottle crushing machine to generate recycled plastic waste everyday.
The decompost machine installed at Kacheguda railway station is first of its kind on SCR.
