HYDERABAD: Soon, Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) will undertake a study to asses impact of pollution on places like Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Maitrivanam, Kukatpally, Vanasthalipuram and Mindspace in state capital on pilot basis to prepare a strategy for improvement of Traffic Transportation Infrastructure by 2041.

The contextual refinement and revalidation of Comprehensive Transportation Study (CTS) taken up by the HMDA was discussed by stakeholders consisting of various government departments here on Saturday.

During the meeting chaired by HMDA Metropolitan Commissioner T Chiranjeevulu, the state government wanted the stakeholders (HMDA, GHMC, TSRTC, HMRL and R&B) to come up with proposals to meet the current state and city requirements relating to Transportation and Traffic.

CTS report was prepared by HMDA in the year 2011-2014. In 2015, HMDA was suggested to undertake the contextual refinement and revalidation of CTS. The study is to reassess transportation strategies for HMA and to prepare immediate (2017), short (2021), medium (2031) and long term (2041) transport strategies for the region.

As a part of the study, the consultants submitted three reports which include carrying capacity analysis of select areas and population and employment forecasts for HMA. The report was placed before Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting for review.
