Civil society fact-finding team formed, visits villages

As many as 25 civil society organisations and some senior journalists formed a fact-finding team dubbed ‘Nija Nirdarana committee’ to probe the deaths of the couple, Naresh and Swathi.

YADADRI BHUVANAGIRI : As many as 25 civil society organisations and some senior journalists formed a fact-finding team dubbed ‘Nija Nirdarana committee’ to probe the deaths of the couple, Naresh and Swathi.


Civil scoiety members headed by senior journalist Pasham Yadagiri visited Lingarajupally and Pallerla villages on Tuesday and interacted with villagers.


Protest in Hyderabad
Yadagiri and other activists addressed mediapersons at Bhuvanagiri.  The senior journalist announced that he along with like-minded civil society members would stage a protest against police negligence in the case at Sundaraiah Vignana center in Hyderabad on June 4. 


He warned that if police failed to take action against erring cops within three months, ‘Chalo Bhuvanagiri’ programme would be organised. Civil society members John Wesley, Ashaiah, Bhupathi Venkateswarlu, Abbas, Srilakshmi, Nagaraju, Kondamadugu Narasimha Swamy, Vemula Ashok and others participated in the press meet.


Some villagers alleged that both Swathi and Naresh had been murdered by Srinivas Reddy. They also claimed that local police had been involved in a cover-up. The couple, belonging to different castes had eloped.
