HYDERABAD: In yet another face-off involving a GHMC corporator’s kin, Kachiguda corporator Aekkala Chaithanya Kanna’s husband misbehaved with a GHMC woman employee while she was discharging her duties.Based on a complaint by the woman employee, Kachiguda police booked cases against Kanna Yadav, the corporator’s husband, under Section 353 ( Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his/her duty), 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC.
According to police, GHMC section officer Vani received information that some illegal constructions are going on in Kachiguda and she along with her team visited the place. “While they were verifying the facts, the corporator’s husband Kanna Yadav and his followers came to the place and abused her in filthy language and pulled her hand in the presence of locals,’’ Inspector K Satyanarayana said quoting Vani’s complaint.
Kanna Yadav also asked Vani not to do any verification and that he would talk to higher officials with regard to the illegal constructions. Inspector Satyanarayana said that they have registered criminal cases against Kanna Yadav and took up investigation. “We have recorded the statement of Vani. We will take action against Kanna Yadav after the investigation,’’ he said.
