Job fraud: Elusive culprit nabbed after 16 years

A man from city who has been allegedly cheating job aspirants on pretext of foreign job and work visa since 2001 has been arrested by Cyberabad cybercrime police.

HYDERABAD: A man from city who has been allegedly cheating job aspirants on pretext of foreign job and work visa since 2001 has been arrested by Cyberabad cybercrime police.In July 2016, Shaik Aleem met Syed Shakeel Ahmed, through a friend, learning that he assists people in getting jobs abroad. Aleem asked him to help his two brothers to get jobs in Singapore. He paid `12 lakh to Shakeel, hoping to get visa for his brothers.

Shakeel, who was using Singapore mobile numbers continued postponing to handover the visa. Aleem through his friends got to know that Shakeel has cheated him and approached police.
Cyberabad DCP (Crimes) Janaki Sharmila said that Shakeel was arrested on Thursday. His questioning revealed that he has been cheating people for 16 years. “Accused got access for job portals by paying money and contacted unemployed youth and cheated them. Further, if any candidate visits abroad, his agent meets them and engages them in a temporary job,” he said.

The team has recovered `45,000, a car, original passport of the accused, bank passbooks, cheque books, debit and credit cards and other incriminating material.

Visa cheating case, TN men stage protest in Neredmet
Around 150 youngsters from various places in Tamil Nadu staged protest in front of Neredmet police station in Hyderabad on Thursday alleging that a woman duped them on pretext of providing work visas to Canada and collected up to `3.5 crore. One of the victims, M Sikkandar Babu lodged a complaint with Neredmet police stating that he had seen TV advertisements of jobs in Canada and sent his resume to Yellow Stones Immigration. He claims to have received a response asking him to depost money for  registration.  

“Three people interviewed him and Sikkandar paid `1.5 lakh and his original passport and documents, and collected a promissory note from them. ,” said police. On Thursday, around 150 such persons, reportedly cheated by the Yellow Stones Immigration consultancy, staged a protest in front of the police station demanding their money back. The police sent them back assuring action.
