HM comes to rescue of  woman duped by constable

Home minister N Narsimha Reddy came to the rescue of a woman, from Andhra Pradesh, who was allegedly cheated by a police constable working in Telangana, on the pretext of marriage.

HYDERABAD: Home minister N Narsimha Reddy came to the rescue of a woman, from Andhra Pradesh, who was allegedly cheated by a police constable working in Telangana, on the pretext of marriage. As per the directions given by the minister, Hyderabad Police Commissioner M Mahendar Reddy on Friday conducted an enquiry and suspended Chilkalguda constable Sai Kumar for cheating the woman.
According to police, one, R Swapna, belonging to Vijayawada, was married at a very young age. She has two children, who are studying intermediate. She had come to city after getting separated from her husband some years ago.

On Friday, she approached Home Minister and submitted a representation stating that after separating from her husband, she came to city and was living in Kukatpally. Meantime, police constable Sai Kumar, who is posted at Chilkalguda police station came in contact and befriended her. Believing him, she entered into a relationship with him, but he allegedly cheated her and started avoiding her. The woman then approached the home minister at secratariat on Friday, seeking justice.
